Tags, new toys and more

I have been terrible about blogging lately. Reading as well as writing. I don't know if it is the fact that I am glued to a computer most of the day or what. But I do have things to write about so brace yourself this will be a bit of a long post.

First things first - I GOT A NEW TOY. Isn't it cute????????? I am totally in love with it. Its the T-mobile wing. My company really wants us to go blackberry but I just can't go from smart phone to blackberry so after an hour or debating in the store the Wing is what I got. Its so great it even talks to me and tells me whats on my schedule and the titles and senders of emails. I love the touch screen (stylus included in the phone) but the hideaway keyboard makes emailing so much easier.

I also downloaded this new program I found - MyPersonalDiet. This program is great to keep track of calories and exercise. You enter your goal, pick a diet and then enter what you do and eat all day. It tells you after each entree if you need to lose calories or gain more. I ended up going to the gym twice the first day because it told me after dinner i had to burn 800 cals to stay on track. It has a lot of food preprogrammed but also lets you enter your own stuff. That feature is good for me since most of my foods / meals are not found in there. I tell you the program has been an eye opener to me you don't realize how much calories you truly eat and how much calories some of the foods have.

On other news I finally finished my wedding album and honeymoon album - or so I thought. I did finish the honeymoon one but as I went through my box of photos to decide on my next project I realized I still had stacks of wedding pictures. So when I go back to "craft club" later this month I will try to finally finish the wedding album - I mean its been 3 years!!!!!!!!!!

Lets see nothing much new from the job - still love it and I found out the other day that I get to have a new site in Las Vegas and I am to be the back up for one of the other girls in my team that is to have a Hawaii site starting late this summer. How cool is that, I get to go to Vegas once a month and potentially Hawaii everyso often!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mhhhh what to say

I know I have been scarce and I haven't visited/commented as much as usual but who knew I was going to have to work this hard ... ;). Actually I am loving my new job - whats not to love I get up, let the dogs outside turn on my computer and am at work. I get to go play with the pups in the yard. Fix meals when I like, take a nap when one is needed and so forth its awesome. Hell I didn't even leave the house once until Wednesday!!! And they gave me cool new toys - here is my office - note the 2 computers I have my private one in the office so I can watch Tivo and chat if I feel the need
They also sent me this cool Xerox workstation and a leather bag for the laptop. My docking station is coming Tuesday as is my security token.

I loved not having to go to work at night - well I did work the past 3 nights but thats not going to be that way. I had told the Germany place when they had asked I could work Valentines day, well I also worked there Friday which is my usual day and then today at the Italian place. I had tried to get out of it as I really wanted to get some more training classes for my new job out of the way but the girl that said she'd work for me couldn't oh well. I have to say it was a very lucrative week hell I made a bit over $180 just tonight!

Anyhow Grumpy and I spoiled ourselves this week. We got a few cool things including something for vacations. We also got this water purifying system hooked up to the house. It even has this reverse osmosis thing in the kitchen so its like getting bottled water from the tap. Well I got a headache so I am turning in. I'll try to come around and visit tomorrow.

PS this is the hotel I'll be at for a week while training in Tampa - niceeeeeeeeeeee.

so much to do so little time

just a quick note. thank you for all the warm wishes. I am very excited about my new job. I was hired as a new CRA for P.fiz.er - and no can't get you samples of this (everyone is trying to hit me up) The cool thing about this job is not only am I home based and am in the immediate vicinity of my sites but I start out at 15K more than what Grumpy and I had made together last year. This means I can pay off my credit cards and other loans and I have money to pay all of our bills. My new job starts on 2/11. Right now I have a ton of paperwork to do.

Then there is my new office - i need to clean it and get it set up and so forth. Have you noticed there are never enough hours in the day

I have three posts coming - the long overdue vacation post, my American dream from dishwasher to CRA and memories of 2008. it may be awhile ... for now I have to play with my new toy - Garmin nuvi 350

Today was to be such a good day but as always ... Well there was AP drama and then I get home and see my toys came just to find out that the fiber optic crap is broken - no TV no internet and no fucking way to play with my TIVO which was just delivered. After 3 agonizing house verzion decided there is no over the phone fix and they have to come out tomorrow. Fuck so i took my laptop (the one that didn't work on their system to the office to work and what do you know there it works.

I am in love

So after I got of work last night I had an email saying I had enough incentive points to cash in for a new phone. I had been waiting for that email for almost a week. Initially I was going to get the new Blackberry but while waiting to find out how many points I had to cash in and so forth I did some research and came across the T-mobile dash. This is a windows based smart phone cute, does the same and more and it was cheaper than the Blackberry (still over $300). Anyhow so I finished up my patients in record speed so I could run out around lunch time and get my new toy. l from corporate stating that I had enough. Here it is. Isn't it cute? So little but oh so versatile. Video, pictures, calendar, internet and even TV how cool. I am so in love. I like that its not fat or chunky. The only thing I don't like about it is that there is no place to attach a lanyard and the case it came with its kind of ugly. But its the inside that counts right? Well I am still learning how to use it. Grumpy inherited my razr and my mom will get Grumpy's phone. She is exited because now she gets a camera phone. Of course you know what that means - I will get a lot pf pictures of my dear little sister. I know she says she just wants it for safety reason - i.e. if she is in an accident but Grumpy and I are not fooled we know whats coming. Well let me get back to my homework.

Still here

Hi everyone,

I am still here. Thank you all for your wishes and thoughts.

The last week/end has been pretty quiet. I didn't work all weekend with the wake and funeral. It was kind of nice not to rush around and I decided to hand in my resignation to Busch Gardens. I haven't worked much this season and am not looking forward to work as things have changed and were we used to have all sorts of fun this year that wasn't the case. Besides with the gas prices going up I really don't feel like driving 45min to a minimum wage job. This way I have one day of a week and get to spend my days doing things like having lunch with Grumpy at Nawab (which we did Sunday) and taking the doggies to the beach and so forth.

Most of my weekend was spent trying to fix my computer. My Dell Inspiron had crashed last week and the geek squad said its the hard drive - I told them not to fix it since I had already payed $300 for them to tell me the hard drive is broken. I didn't like this labtop from the getgo to big, only runs like 30min on battery ... I had tried to return it just to find out Dell has a 28 day return policy - and I called day 29! So now I am trying to figure out what to do. I hooked up my moms old laptop to be the base computer (hooked up to the wireless router and my printer) but it doesn't work so a former coworker of mine is coming out to help me. If it doesn't work we'll have to go get a CPU I saw some for $289 at comp USA which should do. We don't need it for things like video games and so forth.

I am hoping not to have to get one right now because then I can go and buy the new Blackberry I want. See I have been holding out for a Blackberry because they didn't have the camera and video camera and they looked kind of funky but I really like this one. I am just not liking the idea that I have to pay $549 (-$200 instant discount). Granted I use my points for it and would probably pay much less than that but still. That means I can't use the points for something else. Oh I am such a gadget nerd. Once I set my eyes on a new one I can barely contain myself. I have to give my self some kuddos because this one has been out for a month and I have not yet ran to a store. I have however checked it out online repeatedly. I even called customer service for T-mobile trying to find out a way to get it cheaper - like adding a new line and so forth. But there is nothing out there. The thing is it wont get cheaper for some time. I mean all the other Blackberries are still like $3-400 and they have been around for years. Mhh I don't know how long I can stand to wait. I just luv new toys and I have been waiting for that one for several years now.

Almost forgot to show you all pictures of my new "sister" - Missy. My mom calls her, her child so that makes her my sister right? Here she is modeling the leather raincoat my mom bought here. To my question about her head and butt getting wet my mom just answered "what you want me to get her an umbrella?" And here she is in her new car. To me she is to small kind of looks like a overgrown rat but hey that may just be sibling rivalry.

Well I took some time tonight to get more familiarized with the camera and since there were some requests for puppy pictures I just had to oblige. I even took a little movie of the muds just for you all. Of course they tried to maul me toward the end but you have to see for yourself

my new toy

I just got back and I didn't have any time to sightsee I did try to take some time to figure out my new toy. Grumpy had given me a Olympus a few years ago as a christmas present and it has served me well and takes great pictures as you all have seen on the blog. However being a gadet lover I wanted a new one. I had noticed the old one was not taking as good indoor picture as it used to and so forth. Anyhow with some help from Mr. Jin I picked the Olympus SP-510 UZ (ultra zoom) . I had hoped to have some time at the meeting to go and play with it but was to busy. I did take some shots and you can see them here.

After the meeting was done last night I went to have dinner with one of my host families that moved up here to DC a few years ago. We stayed in touch and when one of my girls switched families they needed a new AP because theirs wasn't working out either and I thought they'd be a good match - well almost a year later - I guess I was right. It was good seeing the host mom and the AP.

Today after the meeting I went to the Pentagon mall which was near the hotel. That mall is one of the only two places that I know if has a SWATCH store. I have had a swatch since I can remember. They are awsome, fun designs, durable and waterproof. I tend to get a new one every year. And this is my newest one. Like it?

At the mall I met up with a good friend - get this she and her spouse may come to Germany with us in December. See thats where Jess and I met she was living in my dorm while teaching English at my college. Grumpy likes the idea since that way he has someone to talk to and go to museums too while I goof off and reminice about old times with my friends and do the boring errand stuff ect. After catching up with her I met another friend she has worked with me for years in the research stuff. Her and her cute daughter and I had a late lunch and then it was off for me.

The drive home was okay some traffic. Now its time for homework. I am off tueday and wednesday night so if the weather is nice I may the camera out and practice some more so I have it down when I am leaving for San Diego on Thursday.

This week was not what it could have been. First I get a call Monday night around 7 from my scotish friend asking me if I had checked my schedule for the restaurant I told her I did and was working Tuesday and Thursday - well it turned out I was supposed to work Monday. I was mortified I have never done that.

Then all that drama with the AP and families and that manager that had no clue on what she was doing. well thankfully that is all resolved now and a new manager was assigned.

Then there is the fact that my office (the doctor) seems to be a poster child for hostile work enviroment. I can not wait to be done with school and leave there.

Mhh tonight was bad too. Well not bad since I missed Mondays shift and have to go to DC tomorrow tonight was my only shift. I had really hoped to make some money but ... I had 3 tables the first 2 tables were nice and the tip wasn't bad but then it turned out the big table that took up the rest of my section turned out to be highschool kids that went to a dance. They all ordered cheap stuff so I didn't make crap.

There are however good news, my camera came today. I played a little bit with it but will take it with me to DC and use my trip to familiarize myself with it. That way I can take awesome shots while at sea world in San Diego next week.

weekend

So the weekend was pretty busy. Friday night I worked at the restaurant. Thank god it wasn't busy because besides Vinnie and me there were two new people and 2 busboys turned waiters that are not yet old enought to make drinks. So essentially I spend the night answering questions and making drinks.

Saturday I had to go up to Busch Gardens for the Alumni Orientation. We got to see the video for our new rollercoaster. I can't wait to ride it. They told us that they'd need people to ride it for photo ops and training I am hoping its on a day that I can make it. Otherwise I am sure I'd have to wait a few years to get on it because I am not waiting forever.
After the training I went to interview an new family and then went home. I went over to a friends house that night for "Craft club" and managed to scrap book 5 pages - sadly I am still working on the wedding book. I haven't started on the honeymoon or anything since then. I seem to only work on with when I make it to "Craft club".

Sunday it was back to Busch for more training the cool thing was I got my ID. This means that when I am in San Diego in a few weeks I can go to Sea world - for FREE!!!!!!!!! So I maped the hotel and its only 7 miles away from sea world. I am soooo excite I have never been andcant wait. I am even getting a new camera. Thanks to Mr. Jin for helping me pick one out. The only bad thing is the park is only open till 5pm so I will have to rush - even if I get to go on both days. But be sure I'll have plenty of good pictures

So I read at Beths blog about Sugar Mama closing up shop since she wants to spend more quality time with her family.
