New Year - maybe some resolutions

Alright I guess for resolutions -lets all get along - just like the pups and kitties in my house.
Try to work less and spend more time home with the cats.
Be more active and have fun playing around

As for the rest well lets say I'll try to post more often - shall we say weekly? I know better than to say daily since my days often get away from me.

The holidays were fun due to weather and technical difficulties i wasn't able to do my visit this past week and got to stay home ALL WEEK. It was great we had snow, i went for winter wonderland walks with the pups, relaxed and enjoyed hanging with hubby and all the critters. Went and saw Tron, the Tourist and we are heading to see True Grit today.

Cleo cuddled up with us on the couch This picture I took a while ago as you can see Misty watches over Grumpy when he naps. So I made my first homemade pizza from scratch today. I have been graving pizza a lot lately but have been using the dough you can get in the store. We had bought some pesto mix which tastes so yummy on pizza with cheese sprinkled over (I do not like sauce on my pizza). Then I realized I could make my own dough in the bread maker my mom had given me for Christmas (Which I had yet to use). So here it is.
I think I will have to pre-bake the dough before putting cheese on the next time as it was not really done. I think I will also experiment with the dough some more - maybe mix basil and garlic into it.

So I hope everyone had a nice mothers day weekend. Grumpy and I have been social butterflies this weekend. Friday we went out with friends to this yummy Greek restaurant. Awesome food and yours truly managed to polish of an entire bottle of Gewuertztraminer by herself.

Saturday we were invited to one of my coworkers for a birthday party. The small get together that I was expecting turned out rather large and a bit uncomfortable since we really didn't know anyone there. But everyone loved my desserts - I had made the strawberry tortelets and this obviously I am not as good as our Ms Jin when it comes to making cakes looking scrumptious but I assure you it was demolished in no time despite its look.

Today we had invited Davids mom and her husband for lunch to our favorite Indian restaurant.
The food was great but the lunch was made uncomfortable since a certain former friend was sitting a table away. I was polite and greeted her and lunch buddy which I thought was still a friend of mine. At some point I noticed they had snuck out didn't even bother to say good bye. While I didn't expect the former to say bye the other one I would have expected too. But I guess that was to much to ask for - back to kindergarten behavior I assume. Oh well can't help those that don't want to be helped right?

After lunch Grumpy had to go to work and I took a nap. When I woke up I noticed the door to the garage was wide open. I knew Cleo was upstairs since the dogs were in but I couldn't find Misty anywhere. I looked in every room then checked the garage. I started to panic that she was out there - there is still poison from the mice and so many other dangers and we had taken her collar off so if she managed to get outside no one would know where she belonged. I searched and called for her for about 1/2h when I sat down to call Grumpy and tell him about it. After I hung up the phone wouldn't you know she came leisurely walking down the stairs, sat down in front of me yawning giving me this look as if she was saying "YOU CALLED?" That little devil nearly gave me a heart attack.

Hi from Charlottesville

Well I am back on the road. I am at my Charlottesville site for 2 days and since its to far to drive back and forth (3hs one way) I stay overnight. I tried the Marriott last time which was the last time but the Doubletree I am at now is pretty nice however its on the other side of town so next time I'll stay at the Hilton Garden Inn they just opened not 2min from the site.

Two good things about the Doubletree - the food I got from room service was surprisingly good. The soup was a creamy potato soup that was to die for. The Raspberry white chocolate cheesecake was pretty good so was the pasta.

Of course after all those carbs I had to hit the gym - besides I am still trying to be good and go every day. The gym is small but all new machines so I did 30min on the cross trainer and 30min on the treadmill. Now I need to hit the shower and go to bed its going to be a long day tomorrow. I wont get back till 6/7pm and then I am meeting with my personal trainer at 9pm so he can "make me suffer" isn't it great that I get to pay someone to inflict pain on me??????

Catching up

Its amazing what power coffee has. I finally got to the hotel about 12:30am and didn't get unpacked till after one so it was around 2 that I fell asleep just to have a wake up call at 6:45am. I had a few rough stretches during the day where I was fighting to fall asleep.


Alright so here is my catch up post. The new job is going great. Aside from the fact that I can finally pay my bills when they are due and still have money left over I am enjoying the work. I am still learning a lot of things but at the same time I do know a lot of the stuff already. I can't wait to be done and have my own sites. I have already finished most of the requirements so it should not be long now.

The hotel for the meeting is not bad I managed to get on the top floor which comes with cool perks like a happy hour in their club lounge that includes good and booze for free so I am happily sipping away. After all the alcohol should kill the bugs. I thought that we had to pay for our own dinner so I brought some of Jins goodies. But I found out I was wrong so I will have her scones along with the pasta I ordered and the cookies will be snack food for during the meeting. As you can see I also ordered dessert - I never could pass up raspberries. This sorbet was soo good but also huge so I put it in the freezer shelf of the fridge and hope I can eat it tomorrow.

I know I know I haven't posted much the last few weeks. I don't know why there are lots of things that I wanted to write about but somehow I never get around to it. Part of it is pure laziness since my little computer doesn't work on the new network I have to actually get of the couch and go into my office and write there (or get that laptop out here on the couch - which I did now) the other is I just haven't felt like doing much besides reading. It seems I developed a one a day book habit (on occasion its two days) I guess I am trying to make up for not having had much time to do so with school and all. Alright so lets see whats new.

1. Mhh we had a blast at Busch Gardens for their howl-o-scream celebration and I am seriously considering going back next year just to be a monster and scare people.

2. Haven't had to much AP trouble just a little.

3. Had a new waitress who is an idiot but is now of the schedule as everyone realized she is an idiot.

4. Grumpy has been working opposite to me and I rarely get to see him :-(

5. Argued with my mother about the fact that I do not want to meet my sister anywhere but for breakfast in town while we are in Germany

6. Still haven't been able to apply for a new job since I have yet to hear back from the school if I am done

7. Found out today that the weekend before we leave for Germany I have to go to Las Vegas for a meeting (leaving Grumpy home with my mother ;)

8. The Euro keeps getting stronger diminishing the money we saved for our trip

9. Oh and here is the photos Angel asked for - she got a new tattoo and asked her readers to show of theirs. I got this in Illinois when I was 19 - its my design. The snake (cobra with a skull) is from a necklace that I have. I lost it so many times and would always find it by stepping on it with my left foot. Since the necklace was 3D it kind of hurt - this happened in the ocean, on the beach all over the world so that gave me the idea.

I know its been a week and i owe you a couple of posts. The week was full of stress and drama. Everything from me calling a teacher out over telling lies (wonder if I am going to pass that class) to lots of AP drama and the installation of fiber optic TV and internet that wont connect to my little laptop.

But as I still have 3 papers due by tomorrow and one that was due yesterday all I can leave you with is this picture of Misty sunning herself in the window.

Pitiparty for one

Okay so when did things change. It used to be the tooth fairy would bring you money for teeth and the tooth that was taken out didn't hurt so much. They pulled my wisdom tooth today when I say pulled I mean pulling it out with a f***ing hammer and chisel. I was bleeding like a pig that was being slaughtered and nearly choked on the blood and then I had to pay $150!!! When did we start paying the tooth fairy so we can be in horrendous pain?????????????? The dentist said to get the Vicodin filled and take it before the Novocain wears off. Of course there was an hour wait at the pharmacy and then I had to go to the bank and then I realized I forgot my antibiotics at the office. So by the time I got home and could take the pain meds I was in pain since the Novocain was long history. But the damn stuff didn't work not even a bit. So then I took some Advil nothing wait a few hours .... took some Tylenol 3 I still had .... still f***ing nothing. I am miserable and in pain and Grumpy is pulling a 13h shift not coming home till 7am!! Damn it!

On other news we have a family addition. Remember my friend AJ that passed away earlier this year? Well before she passed away she wanted to know where Shawnna would go so I had asked one of my host families that used to foster dogs if she'd take her in. She did and Shawnna had a ball with the kids and another dog and horses. About a month ago the lady's sister asked her to take in her dog until April next year and that Shepard mix kept fighting Shawnna so I was asked if I could take her a while or if I knew someone that could. I met the lady and Shawnna at a parking lot and she was so happy to see me it made my heart jump she hopped in my car before I was even done getting stuff out. Shawnna was the first dog I ever had when I watched her for AJ after her inital diagnosis and treatment. She is the reason I got Mac because I missed having a dog after AJ was well enough and took Shawnna back.

Misty decided that Shawnnas bed was hers and Shawnna decided to let her.

One of the girls at the restaurant said she'd love to take Shawnna but she is still working on her boyfriend who's house they'd be at. I would love to keep her but our city code doesn't allow more than 4 animals without special permission and frankly our house is not that big. The other thing is having her here makes me terribly sad because I am reminded of the friend I lost. I will keep her until I have found the perfect home for her - until then she is my doggy. And I mean mine she follows me everywhere and insists on sleeping next to my bed to the dismay of the cats.

Alright I got homework to finish and then I'll see if I can get some sleep with this throbbing pain.

Well my weekend was pretty good. I was off Friday night and after hitting the gym I went and got my mom a present for $2 (after all the rebates) She'll love it I am sure especially considering how it will be delivered. Saturday I took it easy after the gym until I had to head to the restaurant. There I got a nice surprise. R. had gotten laser surgery so our day time manager was in and she is good about sitting tables so I managed to make decent money despite it not being that busy. Today was nice since Grumpy and I were both off. He was beat and slept till noon so I had made a nice big breakfast for us. I even baked him the cake I was going to make for his birthday in June. Okay I just spent the last 2 days labeling all my posts (all 240!) so now I am up to date.

Yesterday started of very annoying and I ended up being really pissed till later in the day because of it. I am NOT a morning person. Those that know me in person will attest to that. Anyhow I had not even clocked in when my manager cornered me asking if I had put the bagels someone had brought the day before. I told her no I had told our lab tech she could take them home. So my manager is like KATY!!!! those were MY bagels. I was like you mean ours and she responded no MINE. Apparently her monitor had brought her a dozen. I was like sorry. But here is where I got pissed off. Everyone in our office knows that the stuff on the kitchen table is for everyone. She didn't tell anyone there are hers nor did she put them away when she left. I refuse to feel bad about giving them to our lab tech. Her husband lost his job, they have to kids and right now have no money. While my manager has a ton of money. Why the fuck would you get that upset about 4 lousy bagels that were given to someone that can't afford groceries right now? See our tech wont accept if you offer her "charity" but she will do it like that. We also have another lady in the office who has her kids and grandkids to feed. She and her husband ended up raising the grandkids because her daughter is dying from MS and her son is also disabled. They don't have money so when people bring us food and its still on the table by the end of the day I tell her take it. She told me my manager yelled at her for that. Nobody will eat it the next day so whats the big deal. She also bitches when I tell the guards that escort patients that are in jail they can have some food. That kind of cheapness just pisses me of to no end.

Anyway I downloaded skype yesterday. Have you checked this out? Its the thing that lets you call people via computer. If they have it its free. Hendrik uses it and said to download it so we can chat. Turns out a couple of my other friends are using it too. Yeahhh

Work tonight sucked must have been the friday the 13th thing. The daytime manager worked and so my section was set alot most tables turned over. My tables all had drinks, some had appetizers and the checks were nice sized but the tips just sucked I mean like this one dude left me $80 on $73 and then I got $128 for $115 and so on. I mean i should have made $150-$200 and made $80!!! Hopefully tomorrow will be better since I only worked today and tomorrow so my paycheck next week will suck.

Well its time to go to bed here is a picture of Cleo roaming Macs bed - I think she just wanted to remind the Great Dane that it is her house and she just lets her stay in it.

Happy Fourth

Well it looks like weather wise today will be great. Not that I am planning on doing anything beyond reading and finishing my paper.

Work last night was pretty good I got home before 10 and made good money. I had a six-top that left me $20 in addition to the $29 which were automatically added in. I like working days during the week. Since there are only 3 of us your more likely to make money than on weekend where there are 6. Dinner was Penne ala vodka mhhh so yummy I hadn't had it in months and lately I have been leaving early which means no dinner so it was even better.

This is gonna be a great week since I am off today and I took of Friday. I have my annual eye exam and since I am usually blind after those stupid drops so I figured I may as well play hookie for the rest of the day.

well let me get to my homework. Maybe Grumpy gets off on time so we can go catch a movie.

So I am slowy clawing my way back to normalcy downloading programs, reinstalling programs and getting use to the new stuff my friend put on this computer. I also managed to read all day! I finished Blood Trail from Tanya Huff this one hasn't been on the life time show Blood ties which is based on featuring hottie vampire Henry Fitzroy. Well Blood Trail was very good I guess the fact that it wasn't very PG rated was why the series did not pick it up. Now I got to go back to Barnes and Noble tomorrow to pick up all the other books. After all I have 2 days off this week. Plenty of time to read

Here are some kittie pictures. I had gone to Sams Saturday and brought home a box which was quickly claimed by the cats. And Cleo tool her old place up on my desk now that my computer is back of course she had to rub her scent back all over the laptop just to be sure everyone knows its her property. Anyway to get back to the subject line. I was behind one of those Harley's today that had AC, radio and a reverse gear and just wanted to tell the guy to buy a damn convertible. I am sorry those bikes have nothing to do with riding a motorcycle they are ludacris. I love riding motorcycles and can't wait to have another one. Grumpy said I have to pay of the truck before I can get another one. Here is my old one - I had to sell it to get money for the new roof the house needed. I cried when I handed the keys over. I had bought that bike brand new in Wisconsin then drove it down here by myself. It was awesome the weekend after Sturgis so lots of bikes out. And it didn't rain until 30min away from home. It was a 750 American Classic Edition from Honda the bike was a dark purple with a pearl design. It was gorgeous I miss it so much especially days like today where the weather would have been perfect to ride.

Haven't had much to say.

After dinner we saw Ocean thirteen. It wasn't as good as Eleven but much better than Twelve. While our dinner view was lovely the rest of the dinner left much to desire. Our Ice tea was fermented, the appetizers left much to be desired, Grumpys dinner was cold and mine was just icky. So we'll redo it this Wednesday. This time we are going to this place one of the other girls works in. Its supposed to be really good. Then we are going to see the Silver Surfer.
Anyway between homeowrk and work haven't had much time the last few days. Somehow I managed to hurt my back so waiting tables was painful. I still made good money even while trying not to work much. That's what I love about our restaurant. Right now I am enjoying my day off. I had lunch at my favorite indian restaurant with my Scottish friend. I spend the am yesterday cleaning the bedroom and I tell you I was horrofied. I mean I knew it was bad but yuck!!!!!!!!! Today is laundry day.
